so many wonderful ideas, so lovely ladies. And it even took us to countries like Malaysia and Sweden - isn't the internet an awesome technology?
This blog hop was organized by Madame Sam and Linda did the cheering - did you see her awesome coffee time quilt? And would't you love to have a coffee hours with the whole family and peanuts fresh from the field every day? I sure would!
So today is the final day of the

My Collection of Things (Jeni K.)

So first a few words about myself:
If you thing my english sounds funny or if you find some errors: Yes, english is not my native language. I do my very best. But I have to admit that even my kids correct me every day. Sigh.
We moved to the San Francisco bay area 2 years ago, and we love it here.
This is my english blog, I do have a bigger, german one. I know most people just translate their blogposts in the other language, I tried that, too, but it just didnt work out for me. Either I make the concept and writing in english or in german, I just can't translate it phrase by phrase....
So, As I was thinking about my words, I remembered there was a birthday gift I had and wanted! to do, for my sister, who, last year, met a new love. She decided to move to his town.
So I thought that a present reflecting these two important events in her life would be a great choice for her birthday present.
Are you ready?
I had to take this picture, even though you might not see a lot, but: SHE IS BACK: the sun *lol*
Okay, so here are the two pillows I made:
It's all about love, isn't it?
Home - it is not easy to build a new home, in a new town, with new family members. But is much easier with some cozy, friendly things around you.
I got my new name labels, and I love them :-)
They are not woven, but printed, and they come as a sheet, you have to cut them yourself.
If you are german, there has to be some woven ribbon on your project.
This one is available for several german cities, and I took it as a small reminder of our hometown.
The back is simply some of the fabric I used for the f(r)onts
Thank you so much for stopping by, now head over to next stop on our blog hop,
Christa Quilts, before heading back to Madame Sam.
But wait!
Are you in the mood for a little give away?
Then just leave a comment here to be entered.
You can win one machine embroidered panel with the HOME, LOVE, PEACE or HOPE,
the panel will be about 8 x 12 inches in size.
You can choose the background color and the color(s) for the word, I will choose the fabric.
The give away closes at midnight PST friday, january 18th. Good Luck!
Have a great day, make it the best you can (yes, I cited you, Ivania)!

AntwortenLöschenThat is a wonderfull and thoughtful gift for your sister. You do very beautiful work - I really do need me some of those labels. Where did you order from. Judy C
AntwortenLöschenYour work is outstanding and beautiful. Thank you for sharing and for the chance:)
AntwortenLöschenThese are simply perfect! (BTW- your English is wonderful- never apologize for it! When I was stationed in Germany in the late 1980s, I tried hard to learn German and while I did not succeed as well as I had hoped, I used it every day and was made to feel welcom by my neighbors. Loved living in Nierstein and loved Germany too)
Neee, lieber nich.
AntwortenLöschenHi!!! These are so pretty and sweet!!! Lucky sister you have!!! Thanks for the fun!!!
AntwortenLöschenI "love" your pillows - they are wonderful! I really like the colorful blocks at the top of your blog page, too :-)
AntwortenLöschenYour pillows are wonderful and look so comfortable. I read your other blog. My german is very poor but I try to keep my limited level of the language up to scratch. A work friend taught me years ago ..she had a very difficult job as I am very poor at picking up languages.

AntwortenLöschenFirst of all, your English is very good so stop putting yourself down! I know what you mean about thinking in one language or the other, I find it easier to think in French than to translate from English to French.
