doch, doch, ich nähe noch.... / yes, I am still sewing

if you follow me on Instagram, you saw what I made the last months.
Right now I am back in Germany on going home vacation, but before I went at the end of June, I sewed like a maniac.

I am going to start with a smaller project:

sewsweetness revealed a new pattern in spring, the Annex double Zip box pouch, that resembles very much a (free) German box pouch pattern I made several times in the past. But this one has two compartments on the inside, so I had to buy it because I had to know how to do it....

I started by sewing a trail pouch, and this was a quick sew and it turned out nicely.

That made me think this would be the perfect Teacher gift for my elementary school kids.

But then I thought it is so unfair that the Elementary School teachers always get presents and the poor High School teacher never, so I made two more pouches for the French teacher (who was my daughter's teacher for  the last three years) and the German teacher who organised the upcoming Germany-France trip my daughter was signed up for.

In the end, it looked like this.

What I really love about the pattern is that you can make it with only 3 fat quarters (1 for the outside, 2 for the linings) - that is so handy and frugal and offers so much room for creativity.
It is super important to sew the two zippers together in the right way (scant 1/4 inch from the outer edge), and then you just have to get the linings tackled where the pieces meet at the left and right side, but it really is only important that the seams hold up and are  complete, nobody will ever see how messy they are.
