Es tauche im “kind of book” newsletter auf, und ich fand, es hörte sich gut an.
Nach dem Ende der Leseprobe musste ich es dann kaufen.
Wie man auf Grund des Titels erwarten kann, ist es eine moderne Nacherzählung des Märchens Aschenputtel (Cinderella) und ich fand die Umsetzung sehr gelungen.
Eine spannende, witzige, temporeiche, romantische Neuerzählung, die durchaus auch Tiefgang hat.
Ella & Cinder kennen sich seit Jahren aus dem Internet, wo Ella einen erfolgreichen Blog hat und Cinder ihr eifrigster Leser und Kommentator ist.
Ihre gemeinsame Liebe gehört der Trilogie “Der Druidenprinz”, und weil dies schon das Lieblingsbuch von Ellas Mutter war, ist sie sogar nach der weiblichen Hauptfigur benannt.
Doch dann kommt es zu einem schrecklichen Unfall, bei dem Ella schwer verletzt und ihre Mutter getötet wird.
Mehr verrate ich hier nicht, aber die 2,99 die ich in das Buch gesteckt habe, waren wirklich gut investiert, ich hatte viel Spaß beim Lesen dieses Jugendbuches.
(ich habe es tatsächlich auf Deutsch gelesen, weil es auf Deutsch billiger war als auf Englisch. Ich empfand die Übersetzung aber auch als wirklich gelungen).
Es gibt eine Fortsetzung.

I read this book in German, because the German edition was on promotion and cheaper then the Original.
It is a modern retelling of the Cinderella fairytale, and I liked it very much. It was witty, funny, easy to read but also touching some tough topics.
Ella is a blogger, and her biggest fan in Cinder.
It’s no coincidence that they have the same names as the heros of their favorite trilogy.
There is a lot of lighthearted bunter between them, but then, on her birthday, Ella and her mom have a terrible accident and Ella vanishes of the grid.
I had so much fun reading this youth book, and I found it really clever how the author distributed the personell of the fairytale in her story.
There is a second part.
